Tyler

Alison Macdougall

The Louis Berger Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that Alison Macdougall has joined Berger’s Energy Group in Durham, California, as a Senior Environmental Manager.  Prior to joining Berger, Alison worked for Pacific Gas and Electric Company as a Senior Cultural Resources Specialist.  Alison’s area of expertise focuses on National Historic Preservation Act (section 106) compliance and tribal consultation associated with hydroelectric generation and gas/electric transmission projects.  Ms. Macdougall has almost 20 years of experience in managing cultural resources and has developed and implemented historic properties management plans associated with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).  Ms. Macdougall also has worked very closely with many California tribal organizations and been successful in negotiating various tribal agreement documents.  Ms. Macdougall has extensive experience working with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission through the preparation of documents for hydroelectric relicensing projects and many license compliance activities.

Alison holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of Washington, Seattle, and has also completed several years of graduate work.  Alison and her husband, Darren, have recently established a small family farm and grow a wide variety of organic produce for sale to local natural food stores and farmers markets.  Their daughter is active in the local 4-H club and is a member of the swim team.  Alison and her family enjoy working in their gardens and orchards and spending time outdoors.

Tyler Rychener

The Louis Berger Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that Tyler Rychener has joined Berger’s Energy Group in Needham, Massachusetts, as an Ecologist and GIS Specialist.  Prior to joining Berger, Tyler worked for Greystone/ARCADIS Environmental Consultants; Arizona State University; the San Juan National Forest in Colorado; and Americorps as part of the Montana Conservation Corp and at the Northwest Service Academy in Oregon.  He has worked on multiple transmission line siting projects; conducted ecological research and assisted with resource management using GIS tools; and participated in fieldwork for several ecological projects throughout the western United States, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. 

Tyler holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Plant Biology.  He and his wife Claudine moved to Boston from Tempe, Arizona, to escape the summer heat and explore a new corner of the country.  Tyler is an avid fly-fisherman and enjoys the ocean, cross-country skiing, camping, and hiking, although he admits that he is much more interested in a hike if it ends with some fly-fishing.  Claudine is hoping to enroll in a Masters of Fine Arts program and pursue her painting career after deciding to move away from working as a pastry chef.
